"Better Sleep, Brighter Days – Means Wellness One Step at a Time."

A few years ago, after the loss of my husband, I found myself struggling with being able to sleep through the night. I tried everything I could think of, starting with eating well rounded meals, a good bedtime routine, running each day to tire myself out. But even with all those efforts, I would only get two or three hours of sleep, if I was lucky. During one of those sleepless nights, I would pace the floors and after hours I would end up scrolling through Facebook. That is when I noticed something, the ads in my feed seemed to know exactly what I was going through on a daily basis. Sleep aids, wellness products and running gear that always needed to be replaced, they were there showing up just when I needed them most. I didn’t realize they were called “Target ads” . All I was doing was sharing with friends and family online but also offline and was simply searching for some kind of solution if any. One night a lightbulb went off that Facebook had recognized my interests and was adjusting the ads to fit my lifestyle. At that time I didn’t realize just how powerful target marketing is but how it is so beneficial to both the consumer but also the retailer. I took it one step further and tried one of the products because one of these products had to work. Looking back, I see how these experiences shaped my understanding of branding but also they took it a step further and there was an emotional connection. The plus to this is that I am sleeping better these days which I couldn’t be happier about.
